What a Typical Course Costs

Typical guidelines only — actual length depends on your individual pattern and severity.

Acute Issue

Sports injury, recent strain, acute pain
3–6 sessions
over 2–4 weeks

Chronic Pattern

Sleep, IBS, period pain, recurring conditions
8–12 sessions
over 2–3 months

Deep Restoration

Post-illness, fertility support, complex chronic
12+ sessions
over 3–6 months

Every patient’s pattern and severity is different — these are typical guidelines only. The exact course depends on your individual case, and treatment ends when all six gold standards are stable simultaneously.

Our Pricing Promises

Why we publish our fees rather than asking you to phone

① No Hidden Fees

The prices on this page are the prices you pay. No booking fees, no admin surcharges, no consultation premiums.

② Herbs Always Quoted Up Front

If a herbal formula is recommended, we quote the exact price before dispensing — never a surprise charge after the fact.

③ Honest Direction

If your pattern is better suited to your GP, a specialist, or another modality, we say so — and refer you. We never pad treatment courses.

④ Treatment Ends When Recovery Is Complete

Treatment is finished when all six gold standards are stable simultaneously — not when we feel like billing more visits.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your question isn’t here, please ask at the consultation — we’d rather over-explain than under-explain

Why is the first consultation more expensive than follow-ups?

The first consultation includes a full pattern diagnosis (history + six gold standards + pulse + tongue + abdominal exam) plus the treatment itself. Follow-ups update what we already documented. The depth of work is genuinely different — but the total cost over a course is the same as if we charged a flat rate.

Why are herbal formulas billed separately?

Different patients need different formulas of different complexity. Lumping them into the consultation fee would mean overcharging some patients and undercharging others. Itemising keeps it fair and gives you the choice — herbs are always optional add-ons, never required.

Do you offer package discounts?

We don’t run multi-pack discounts because they create the wrong incentive — pre-paying for X sessions tempts both practitioner and patient to use them whether or not they’re still needed. Our rule is the opposite: treatment ends when the six gold standards are stable. Pay-per-visit keeps it honest.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you can’t make an appointment, so we can offer the slot to another patient. Same-day cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee equal to the consultation rate at the practitioner’s discretion — but we use it sparingly and never for genuine emergencies.

Do you offer concession or student rates?

Please discuss with us at the consultation. We have flexibility for genuine financial hardship cases and don’t want cost to be the reason someone goes without care they need. Just ask.

Can I claim Medicare?

No — Medicare does not currently cover acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine. Private health insurance (Extras) covers most of the gap. Some patients also use NDIS or workers’ compensation funding for specific cases — discuss with your case manager directly.

Can I claim with my private health fund?

Yes — at Belmont we use HICAPS for on-the-spot rebate processing. At Geraldton, we issue paper receipts and you submit through your fund’s app (rebate paid to you in 1–3 business days). 40+ funds cover us.

Are fees subject to change?

Fees published here are current. We update this page directly when prices change — we don’t change prices for individual patients mid-course. If you’ve started a course, the rate you started at applies until that course is complete.
