Acupuncture (Master Tung’s & Dr Tan Balance Method)
Our acupuncture practice is built on two specialist systems you won’t find at most Perth clinics. Master Tung’s Acupuncture uses distal needling — points on the hands, feet, and lower limbs — to treat pain and conditions elsewhere in the body. The Dr Tan Balance Method uses meridian-balancing principles to achieve measurable pain relief, often within a single session. Both systems are particularly effective for musculoskeletal pain, headaches, sciatica, and joint conditions. AHPRA-registered. Belmont: on-the-spot HICAPS rebates. Geraldton: official receipt provided.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine can work alongside acupuncture or independently. Your practitioner creates a tailored formula based on your specific TCM pattern — not a generic remedy. All prescriptions are TGA-compliant, individually reviewed, and coordinated with your GP where relevant. Commonly used for: digestive issues, insomnia, women’s health, chronic fatigue, and skin conditions.

TCM Consultations
Not sure whether you need acupuncture, herbs, or both? A standalone TCM consultation is a good starting point. Your practitioner will take a full health history, assess your pulse and tongue, identify your pattern, and give you a clear recommended plan. Also useful for anyone new to Chinese medicine.

Cupping Therapy
Our cupping practice focuses primarily on Wet Cupping (blood cupping/bloodletting cupping) — a more targeted TCM technique that goes beyond ordinary dry cupping for muscle relaxation. Wet Cupping involves making small, superficial skin pricks before applying the cup to draw out stagnant or pathogenic blood (Blood Stasis). This is used to clear blood stasis, relieve chronic pain, reduce localised inflammation, and address conditions such as sports injuries, stubborn joint pain, skin disorders, and certain patterns of fatigue or heat accumulation. The small marks left are a normal response and typically resolve within a few days. Ordinary dry cupping for muscle tension is also offered where appropriate.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion applies gentle, penetrating heat to acupuncture points using dried mugwort (moxa). Especially effective for conditions involving cold, fluid retention, and digestive weakness — including certain patterns of period pain and chronic fatigue. Often combined with acupuncture for patients who feel worse in cold weather.

Lifestyle & Dietary Guidance (TCM)
Chinese medicine has always included food and lifestyle as core parts of treatment. Your practitioner may recommend specific foods, eating timing, sleep practices, or movement strategies based on your TCM pattern — practical and specific to you.
Services FAQ
Common questions about our treatments and what to expect.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit includes a full health history, a TCM assessment (pulse, tongue, and symptom review), and a personalised treatment plan. We’ll discuss your goals and answer any questions before treatment begins — no surprises.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people feel little to no discomfort. You may notice a brief pinch or a dull, heavy sensation at the point — followed by deep relaxation. We use fine, single-use sterile needles and adjust technique to your comfort at all times.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your condition, how long it has been present, and your goals. We’ll recommend a plan and adjust based on how you respond over time. Acute conditions often improve quickly; chronic concerns may need a longer course.
What conditions do you treat?
We commonly support pain and tension, stress and sleep concerns, headaches, digestive discomfort, women’s health, and overall wellness. If you’re unsure whether we can help, contact us and we’ll be honest with you about what’s appropriate.
Do you offer herbal medicine without acupuncture?
Yes. Herbal medicine can be provided as a standalone service or alongside acupuncture, depending on what’s most appropriate for your pattern and needs.
What should I wear to my visit?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing. We often access points on the arms, legs, and back. Gowns and draping are available when needed for your comfort and privacy.
